Two Furniture and Interior design Entrepreneurs get Selected for She Leads Africa (SLA) 2017 Accelerator Program.
Two of the nineteen female entrepreneurs that got selected into this year’s She Leads Africa (SLA) program are into furniture and interior design. The program which is in partnership with Work in Progress! Alliance (VC4Africa and Oxfam), OCP, Guaranty Trust Bank, Cointreau and Intel Corp aims to train exceptional female entrepreneurs in a 3-month Accelerator Program and it is designed to identify, support and fund the next generation of Nigeria’s brightest Entrepreneurs.
SLA announced that nineteen early-stage businesses have been accepted into the 2017 SLA Accelerator Program. This year, the program will hold in 3 Nigerian states – Lagos, Abuja and Kaduna. Accelerator Participants will spend the next three months working on their business strategy and growth while networking with investors and potential partners.
The ladies are:
- Jumoke Dada; Founder and Creative Director Tǽillὸ, a Nigerian furniture and lifestyle brand that designs and manufacture furniture by harnessing traditional forms, materials, Local resources.
- Rosemary Reis; creative director and lead carpenter Perception Consult, an interior design company with a focus on furniture manufacturing, installation and accessorizing of interior spaces.
Both of whose designs are inspired and executed by 99% Local content.
The Work in Progress Alliance is focused on unlocking the economic potential of young women and men in Egypt, Nigeria, and Somalia. The project aims to enable them to generate sustainable and living incomes – by finding regular employment or starting enterprises. Alliance partners include Oxfam, VC4Africa and Butterfly Works.
She Leads Africa has many programs aimed at supporting smart and ambitious Young African Women.
